Weekday wellness
Follow these simple Healthwise tips during the week to improve your health and wellness levels-:
1. Increase your walking activity
If you catch public transport park as far from the train or bus station as possible and then get off one stop earlier and walk to work.
2. Take a walk at lunchtime
Once or twice a week, leave the office at lunch and take a brisk walk. The fresh air and exercise will rejuvenate you for the afternoon.
3. Organise meetings to be held externally
This way you can factor in some extra walking time to get to and from each meeting.
4. Pack a healthy lunch
Not only will you save money but you’ll also reduce the risk of buying unhealthy meals for lunch.
5. Drink water
Keep a bottle of water at your desk always and make sure you drink it regularly. This will prevent cravings for soft drinks.
6. Keep healthy treats in your draw
Don’t be tempted by the vending machines! Keep some healthy nuts, such as almonds or walnuts, or a piece of fruit on hand to snack on between meals if you’re feeling hungry.
7. Ban mid-week boozing
If you’re coming to work after having a few drinks the night before, for many people the temptation to eat greasy high calorie foods is even greater.
